End of the road for Intermediates

posted 9 Oct 2013, 12:01 by Tom Duggan
Mullinavat bowed out of the Intermediate championship for 2013 when they went down to Dunnamaggin In Ballyhale. There was no doubt about the result and Dunnamaggin were good value for their victory as they led throughout. By half time Dunnamaggin had built up a  five point lead: 1-10 to 0-8.  Two minutes from half time Mullinavat were unlucky when John Walsh was put through by Andrew McGovern but his shot went just wide. It was the closest Mullinavat came to a goal and Dunnamaggin comfortably maintained this advantage in the second half despite the best efforts of the 'Vat forwards.
And so our championship hopes will have to wait until 2014. We would like to thank all the players for their efforts throughout the year and a special word of thanks to our excellent management team superbly led by Declan Wall. Declan left no stone unturned in his efforts to prepare the team and he received great assistance from his selectors John Dunphy, Pakie Wall and Tommy Frisby.
